Question:

I want to say thank you and how relieved I was when I discovered your website. I thought I was doomed with these problems! I have had sexual problems for some time now. I suffer from poor erections or not being able to achieve/sustain one at all and always suffer from premature ejaculation now. I know I have brought these upon myself for at one time I was very strong and long-lasting in bed. Now I am pathetic! Here is what I believe has caused this: I abused drugs and alcohol for the last several years. It started with pot and alcohol, but even these didn't affect me after the first year. Then I abused cocaine and ecstasy. And what I believe was the MOST damaging was a drug I was prescribed to treat ADD called Adderal, which is a powerful amphetamine. I began abusing it in high doses and did so off and on over last year. I became disgusted and stopped but continued using ecstasy and pot. I then quit pot a few months ago and a month ago I quit ecstasy, for I had a feeling it had something to do with my problem. Now upon reading your website I know I was right. I also used to masturbate sometimes multiple times a day to alleviate anxiety or sexual urge. I haven't masturbated much at all in recent months however. I also have noticed varicose veins on the top of my penis. I also notice my penis is smaller when erect and when flaccid. My girlfriend has stayed with me and been polite, but I feel embarrassed and guilty every time we have sex or try to have sex. I will now abstain from any street drugs or drinking and will not masturbate. But what I can do to heal these problems? Supplements (hopefully affordable ones)? Exercise methods? Diet? I am very disturbed and depressed by these problems and will do everything in my power to heal myself? Can I heal myself or at least improve to a significant extent? Thank you so much for your help!

Answer:

You have really burned out your neurological and adrenal functions with all of your past drug abuse. I'm glad to hear you're getting clean and allowing your body to heal. That is precisely what you need to do. If you haven't done so already, you need to start dealing with the psychological reasons for your behavior. Clearly, you have avoided dealing with your problems by escaping into drugs and masturbation.

Now I'll discuss some of the harm you've done to your body and how to heal. Cocaine abuse raises the level of the inflammatory hormone prostaglandin E-2 in the body which can induce inflammation in brain arteries, constricting blood flow to the brain. These narrowed arteries require high blood pressure to pump blood up to your brain. Prostaglandin E2 can also loosen the brain-blood barrier and then increase the drug's penetration into the cerebrospinal fluid. All of this can result in hypertension, headaches, migraines, blurred version, gum inflammation, sleeping disorder, and ear ringing, in addition to brain disorders, body or joint pains and inflammation, liver and kidney inflammation, and disorders of the prostate, uterus, cervix, bladder, and urethra. Cocaine use can also cause brain hemorrhage, enlargement of brain cavities, and brain tissue death.

Cocaine chemicals are toxins, poisonous to healthy cells. Exposure to its chemicals can deaden your nerves, leading to sexual exhaustion. The brain's acetylcholine and parasympathetic nervous functions are responsible for sustaining an erection during sex. The chemicals in cocaine gradually take over acetylcholine in the brain and nervous system, causing the brain and autonomonic nervous functions to become disordered. The neurotransmitter nitric oxide and dilator cGMP become suppressed, leading to a failure to achieve an erection or orgasm.

After prolonged use, this scale of nervous system destruction can potentially lead to permanent impotence. In addition, a man may fail to achieve orgasm due to the acetylcholine deficiency in the sympathetic ganglions and adrenal medulla. It is here where acetylcholine helps link the sympathetic nervous functions for the release of norepinephrine and epinephrine that triggers orgasmic contraction in the pelvic contractive fibers. Seminal production and testicular functions will gradually shut down. Then, ejaculation becomes less and less, and finally dries up. At that point, it will be too late for a man to revive his sexual life.

As for ecstasy, many of the risks users face with it are similar to those found with the use of amphetamines and cocaine. They include confusion, depression, sleep problems, drug craving, severe anxiety, paranoia, muscle tension, involuntary teeth clenching, nausea, blurred vision, rapid eye movement, faintness, chills, sweating, and increases in heart rate and blood pressure, a special risk for people with circulatory or heart disease. Recent research findings also link ecstasy use to long-term damage to those parts of the brain critical to thought and memory.

What's more, ecstasy use can lead to sexual dysfunction in men, from impotence, to weak erections, to premature ejaculations. Ecstasy destroys serotonin-producing neurons in the brain that play a direct role in regulating sexual activity, aggression, mood, sleep, and sensitivity to pain. Despite the claims of ecstasy being a sexual enhancer, many men complain of decreased sexual function during or after ecstasy use.

Marijuana abuse raises the level of the inflammatory hormone prostaglandin E-2 in the body which can induce inflammation in brain arteries, constricting blood flow to the brain. Marijuana use can also cause brain hemorrhage, enlargement of brain cavities, and brain tissue death.

Marijuana chemicals are toxins, poisonous to healthy cells. Exposure to its chemicals can put your body in a state of "chemotherapy" that deadens your nerves, leading to sexual exhaustion. The brain's acetylcholine and parasympathetic nervous functions are responsible for sustaining an erection during sex. The chemicals in marijuana gradually take over acetylcholine in the brain and nervous system, causing the brain and autonomonic nervous functions to become disordered. The neurotransmitter nitric oxide and dilator cGMP become suppressed, leading to a failure to achieve an erection or orgasm.

Once marijuana's chemicals take over the inter-neurons or synapses, it is very difficult to flush it from the brain and nervous system.

As for treatment of your drug-induced sexual dysfunction, Power E or Power V with DeToxiA can help you treat the side effects of drug abuse, leading to restored health and sexual function. It takes 2 or 3 months for these formulas to cleanse the liver, inter-neurons and synapses.

Additionally, you can restore sexual potency by treating the underlying medical damage with herbs. Cynomorium is an herb used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat impotence in men and infertility in women. Rehmannia root powder is used to enhance sexual performance as well as to replenish vitality, strengthen the liver, kidney, and heart, and for treatment of a variety of ailments like diabetes, anemia, and urinary tract problems. Horny Goat Weed boosts libido, increases testosterone, and protects the body against the effects of stress. Arginine supplementation is effective at improving sexual function in men with abnormal nitric oxide metabolism. Yohimbe has been shown to effectively treat men with sexual dysfunction. Epimedium produces sex hormones. Cuscuta improves potency. Schizandra is a berry that calms frazzled nerves. Lycium fruit helps improve circulation. And cornus is a Chinese fruit that helps to regulate hormone levels.
