The Unsolved Mystery of the Sore Penis

He was experiencing severe soreness and irritation at the tip of his penis, but his doctors were at a loss to determine why. Learn the common causes of this symptom, and find out what can be done to relieve the pain.

Case #: 886

Concern:

My tip of the penis (glan) is soft & tender (at most times) and is painful when touched. It has been like this since I was 19 years old. Strangely it is painful only when the tip (i.e. penis head) is touched with the foreskin retracted. It is painful when for example during an intercourse or simply by touching the penis head with my thumb/fingers. One way to avoid the pain is to make sure that the penis foreskin covers the tip of the penis preventing it from "rubbing" on anything e.g. underwear. However this is quite impossible to do when my penis is erect as the foreskin will retract. Because of this pain I can't maintain a continuous erection & have problems ejaculating.

I have had this problem for more than 10 years now and Doctors are not sure what causes this pain. Can you kindly advise what causes this pain and what I can do to heal the penis?

Discussion:

Injuring your penis is a lot like dropping your ice cream cone. You'll still make an effort to enjoy the creamy goodness, but it won't be as enjoyable (or maybe I'm just far too liberal with the ten-second rule). With that creepy image in mind, let's take a look at some of the reasons why your reproductive system is revolting against you.

There are a number of possible causes at work, but they point to the same physiological processes. The nerves in your glans are experiencing an insufficient supply of testosterone and DHEA due to poor penile blood circulation. As testosterone converts to DHT, the nerves receive a bioelectric supercharge to expand. DHEA is necessary to increase the flexibility of the nerves and tissue, while also boosting your testosterone and enhancing the acetylcholine/Nitric Oxide/cGMP translation. And when testosterone is in short supply, you may find yourself with an excess of DHT, an inflammatory hormone which can lead to severe irritation if over-abundant.

Confused? Don't worry about all of the details. All you really need to know is that poor blood circulation equals insufficient hormone levels, and that amounts to one throbbing penis.

Causes

“Great,” you're probably thinking. “That's a wonderful science lesson, but why is this happening, and what can I do about it?” Unfortunately, I haven't been following your personal habits, and I don't have access to the NSA's detailed record of your bedroom activities, so we'll have to do a bit of process of elimination.

Have you used a penis pump? Have you engaged in rigorous penis exercises or stretches, such as jelqing? Have you experienced any trauma or fracture to your penis? Certain rigorous sexual positions can actually contribute to this kind of damage. Even excessive, chronic masturbation can lead to the kind of blood vessel damage necessary to account for your symptoms.

Solutions

Whatever the case, you're going to need to deliver the right nutrients to the soft penis tissue. I would recommend an herbal remedy formulated for tissue and nerve rejuvenation. For instance, Astragalus Membranaceus repairs soft tissue, while Alima Plantago promotes nerve growth, and Schisandra Chinensis improves tissue circulation. (SEE: Penile Pain & Nerve Rejuvenation Remedy) The healing won't happen overnight, so be patient, be diligent, and let the herbs do their thing. Before too long, you should start to notice less pain and more pleasure, and unless you're really into BDSM, that's great news.
