Botanical Names: Herba Cistanche, Rou Cong Rong, Cistanches Desertecolae, Broomrape Fleshy Stem, Cistanche Salsa
Native to deserts of China and Africa, the Cistanche herb improves the adrenal glands (Kidney Yang), while protecting the organs from oxidative damage. Since the plant contains antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties and alkaloids, it has been known to improve blood circulation to the genital and pelvic area, build strength and revitalize the body.
Traditional Chinese Medical doctors often integrated Cistanche in a formula for
- Men suffering from erectile dysfunctions (both soft erection and premature ejaculation)
- Men suffering from sexual exhaustion with lower back pain, weak limbs and chronic fatigues
Some users reported that consumption of Cistanche for extended periods has even enhanced the penile tissue. In a study conducted on young, castrated rats, extended use of the herb increased the weight of the seminal vesicle, prostate gland and testes by administrating an alcohol-soluble extract of cistanche deserticola.
